There’s nothing like the sweet little face of a kitten and the high energy, playful spirit that comes with them! Tails High aims to help the community by taking in litters of kittens in need, as well as orphan kittens, when they’re most fragile to ensure they’re in an experienced foster home to get them healthy and well socialized. All of our kittens are with us until they’re ready for spay/neuter surgery before going to their forever homes. We prefer to place young kittens in homes with other cats or adopt them as pairs to continue to provide an enriched environment as cats learn so much from each other.
KITTENS MUST BE ADOPTED IN PAIRS OR POTENTIALLY ABLE TO BE ADOPTED TO A HOME WITH OTHER YOUNG CATS. WE DO NOT ADOPT OUT SINGLE KITTENS TO ADOPTERS WITH NO OTHER CATS.

*Please note that we aim to keep this page updated with available and adoptable cats but things change every day. Cats and kittens may become unavailable as applications are approved. Our Adoption team can advise on available kitties when your application has been approved.

Penguin & Miranda (bonded pair), Females, Born September 2025
Miranda and Penguin are a bonded tuxedo sister duo whose relationship is built on trust, companionship, and a whole lot of love. Whether they’re wrestling, grooming each other, chasing toys, supervising household activities, or curled up together on a cat tree, these girls move through life as a team. They must be adopted together, and anyone who spends time with them quickly sees just how special their connection is. While deeply bonded, Miranda and Penguin are also confident, independent cats with distinct personalities. Adopters won’t just be welcoming a pair, they’ll be building two unique relationships. Miranda is the outgoing adventurer. Curious about everything, she’s always exploring, investigating, and making sure she knows what’s happening around the house. A true “lady about town,” Miranda loves attention, interactive play, and being close to her people. Loyal, social, and full of personality, she brings warmth and joy wherever she goes. Penguin is a thoughtful, observant girl who has blossomed tremendously. She likes to take in new situations before diving in and often looks to Miranda for reassurance. Beneath that cautious exterior is a sweet girl who clearly wants to be part of the action. She adores treats, takes mealtimes very seriously, and has a stunning, luxurious coat that makes her impossible not to admire. As her confidence grows, so does her affectionate side. Together, these girls have retained all of their kitten charm. They love feather wands, playful wrestling matches, and afternoon naps in the sunshine. They’ve also proven to be wonderful big sisters to younger foster kittens and coexist happily with their foster dog brother. What makes Miranda and Penguin so special is how beautifully they complement one another. Miranda gives Penguin confidence, while Penguin’s steady presence balances Miranda’s adventurous spirit. Watching them check in on each other, play together, and curl up side-by-side is a daily reminder of the strength of their bond. These girls are looking for a loving home that appreciates the magic of a bonded pair and understands that every cat settles in at her own pace. Miranda will likely introduce herself right away. Penguin may take a little longer, but for the person willing to give her that time, the reward is watching a sweet, loving cat continue to bloom. If you’re looking for twice the companionship, twice the entertainment, and twice the love, Miranda and Penguin are ready to bring their special sisterhood into your home.

Bean, Female, Born May 2026
Bean has come a long way from her tiny beginnings outside in DC. Now three months old, this sleek little all-black girl has blossomed into a playful, curious kitten who is more than ready to trade life on the streets for a forever home of her own. Bean takes her kitten responsibilities very seriously: chase the mouse toys, catch the feather wand, investigate anything new, and then find a comfortable spot to lounge when the work is done. She loves exploring and discovering new places to play, but she’s equally happy settling in and enjoying the good life indoors. Bean grew up alongside her buddy Sprout, and the two would be thrilled to continue their adventures together. She can also be adopted separately into a home with another young, playful cat who can be her friend and partner in kitten mischief. From one tiny Bean found outside to one beautiful little house panther, she’s done plenty of growing. Now all she needs is a family to grow up with.

Sprout, Female, Born May 2026
Sprout started life as one tiny kitten outside in DC, but true to her name, she’s done quite a bit of growing since then. At three months old, this beautiful white and gray girl is ready to put her outdoor beginnings behind her and spend the rest of her life discovering all the good things that come with being a beloved indoor cat. Sprout is playful, curious and always ready for the next kitten adventure. Mouse toys are meant to be chased, feather wands are meant to be conquered, and any unexplored corner of the house deserves a thorough investigation. Once she’s gotten her fill of playtime, she’s just as content to lounge around and recharge for whatever comes next. Her buddy Bean has been by her side as they’ve grown, and they would make a wonderful pair for a family looking for twice the kitten fun. Sprout can also be adopted separately as long as there’s another young cat at home who would appreciate a new friend. She may have started as a little Sprout outside, but she’s grown into a lovely girl who is ready to put down roots with a family of her own.

Fish Stick, Male, Born June 2026
Meet Fish Stick, a handsome little gentleman with a serious appreciation for toys, adventure, and keeping his brothers in line. Fish Stick is a domestic short-haired chap with a gorgeous deep-black coat and classic tabby markings that mysteriously appear in just the right light. He is playful, curious, and always ready to get in on the action. He also has a very important message for anyone thinking about stealing his toy: Grrrr. Don’t worry, though. His growl is approximately 90% adorable and 10% warning. Fish Stick takes his toys very seriously and will happily let his brothers know when they have crossed the line. Underneath that tiny tough-guy attitude is a fun-loving kitten who adores having feline friends to chase, wrestle, and nap with. Fish Stick can be adopted with either of his brothers, Corn Dog and Marvin, or to a home that already has a young, playful kitty.

Corn Dog, Male, Born June 2026
Prepare yourself for a kitten who is very ferocious. At least, that’s what Corn Dog would like you to believe. Corn Dog is a short-haired sweetie with a chocolatey black coat and an especially adorable brown birthmark on his rump. He’s curious, playful, and convinced that he is a mighty little hunter capable of conquering anything that dares cross his path. But beneath all that ferocity? Mama’s boy. Corn Dog is also occasionally spotted sporting the most adorable little blep, because apparently even fierce predators need to let their tongues hang out sometimes. He’s the kind of kitten who can go from full-speed zoomies to snuggly baby in approximately three seconds. His favorite activities include playing, exploring, and making sure everyone knows just how tough he is. Corn Dog can be adopted with either of his brothers, Fish Stick and Marvin, or to a home that already has a young, playful kitty.

Marvin, Male, Born June 2026
Marvin has a plan. He may not be willing to share the plan with you, but rest assured, Marvin has a plan. This handsome short-haired hooligan is a gorgeous gray-on-gray tabby with soft, subtle markings. He is wonderfully plush and has perfected the art of looking completely innocent while preparing his next great kitten maneuver. Unlike some kittens who immediately dive straight into chaos, Marvin prefers first to observe from afar. He’ll find himself a nice lookout, carefully survey the situation, and watch his fellow kittens play. Then…POUNCE. Marvin is playful, clever, and clearly believes that every good adventure benefits from a little strategic planning. He loves having feline friends around and is happiest when he has someone to chase, wrestle with, and curl up beside afterward. Marvin can be adopted with either of his brothers, Corn Dog and Fish Stick, or to a home that already has a young, playful kitty.

Nova, Female, Born July 2025
Nova is a gentle little star who’s just discovering how wonderful indoor life can be. Once a community kitten, she’s quickly learned that cozy beds, warm heating pads, and kind humans are where the magic happens. She may be a bit shy at first, but give her a quiet moment and a soft approach, and she melts right into your hand. In fact, when you stop petting her, Nova pops right out of her comfy spot to ask for more — a sure sign that a devoted cuddle bug is just waiting to shine. With a little patience, she’s going to be someone’s constant companion. Nova loves to play, especially with string toys, and she’s always happy to indulge in a fun new toy or a tasty treat. She’s wonderfully observant too — you’ll often find her perched by the window or watching her people with bright, curious eyes. She came inside with her brother Cosmo, and the two share a sweet bond full of playtime and snuggles. They enjoy each other’s company and are also very interested in making new feline friends. If you’re looking for a soft-hearted, blossoming kitten who will reward your love with loyalty and affection, Nova is ready to light up your home. ***Nova must be adopted with her brother Cosmo OR to a home that already has another young cat or kitten.***

Cosmo, Male, Born July 2025
Cosmo may be a little shy, but behind that cautious gaze is a tenderhearted sweetheart just waiting for his person. With his perfectly painted mustache and thoughtful eyes, he looks like a tiny gentleman — and he lives up to the part. He’s still building his confidence, so he prefers to observe from a cozy hiding spot at first. But once he realizes he’s safe, he melts into a ball of purrs and head nuzzles. Watching him choose to trust you is incredibly special. Cosmo is a big fan of Churus and will happily let you win him over with a tasty treat. He also adores playtime with his sister Nova and lights up when he’s around other cats — he’s especially curious about making new feline friends. Having a confident kitty companion in his forever home would help him continue to blossom. As a former community kitten, the human world is still new and sometimes a little overwhelming. He’s looking for a patient, gentle adopter who will let him settle in at his own pace. In return, he promises to be your loyal, loving best friend for years to come. ***Cosmo must be adopted with his sister Nova OR to a home that already has another young cat or kitten.***

Wren, Female, Born May 2026
Here’s a chance to get in on the ground floor of some serious cuteness with small but mighty kitten Wren. Named for Mandalorian and Jedi Sabine Wren (who gave the Darksaber to Bo-Katan. . . sorry, back to the kitty), this intrepid girl knows no fear. The tail of any big cat is fair game. Toes are something to be hunted. And rolling toys through tunnels (and working out how to get to the balls in the tower FROM THE CENTER) keeps her skills sharp. Wren has never met a human or feline stranger. She’d like to know who you are, whether you’d play, and if she can chase you. Then, when chasing all over the house is done, she likes to curl up on your lap (or somewhere she can see you) for a long nap and a good purr. Fearless Wren would do best with another kitty to play with. She’s very happy with kid and adults, alike. And, if you adopt her, you’ll get to watch how her fur is turning from brown tabby to brown + orange…and how she grows into her ears. In short, Wren is perfection in kitten form. You’ll laugh every single day, get the warm fuzzies from her snuggles, and marvel at her derring do. You really want to get started with her soon to enjoy every second!.

Hundy & C-Note (bonded pair), Females, Born May 2026

Hundy and C-Note (aka CC) are sisters from the same litter, but we have a theory that Hundy was born first. You see, CC is obviously the baby. She is open and free with her affection, following her person (and other animals) around like a puppy. If you sit down, she dives into your lap. She is carefree, feeling no responsibility to the world other than to enjoy herself. CC is the ultimate lap cat. Hundy, on the other hand, is the guardian. Hundy is the one standing watch at the bathroom door, keeping a watchful eye, making sure everyone is protected. She is also the one watching the food dish, making sure that meals are provided in full and on time, and she will have words for you if you don’t deliver. Hundy is an independent girl, but once you settle in for a night on the couch, she is right there with you. Together they are a sweet pair with tons of personality who are looking for a human who makes them feel safe and loved. Are you that person?

Franny, Female, Born November 2025
COURTESY POST: Franny is a boisterous 8-month-old kitten who loves teaser toys, sitting on chests, shoving her face directly into yours, sitting in open windows, and bunny kicking her toys. She was found happily wandering in a neighborhood, and her friendliness made her an instant hit with her foster family (who sadly already have 8 of their own cats and cant keep another, even one this cute and friendly!) Franny has a beautiful Torbie coat and an attitude to match. She knows that she is special, and she knows that you know it too! Her favorite thing to do when not eating is to stalk her wiggly teaser by hiding behind the bed skirt and pouncing on unsuspecting toys. Her energy is unrivaled, and she will instantly greet you at the door with a meow and a stretch, ready for games and pets. She likes to alternate between playing with her teasers and kickers and snuggling on laps or chests, building up her energy to play some more! Franny is still learning to contain her energy with her people, but she is smart and adaptable, very curious and loving, and the perfect edition for your family. She has firm boundaries about pets (NOT THE TAIL and preferably not the back either) but loves head, cheek, and chin scratches, scrunching her petite self into laps, lying on chests, knocking books out of your hand, and shoving her face right into yours with a soft cheek rub. She is probably best in a house without very young children as she nibbles a bit when playing, although not hard, but she would enjoy some older kids who can match her energy! *Courtesy posted kitties are not under Tails High custody and the adoption will be facilitated by the caretaker/Good Samaritan or owner of the cat. While a Tails High application will be used to assist that person in finding the best home possible, Tails High will not be involved with the adoption process and have no affiliation with future needs or care of this cat.
